Amazon Rating: 4.1/5
The Garmin Approach Black S3 has an average rating of 4.1 out 5.
The Garmin Approach S3 is out. After S1 and S2, it is the 3rd installment by Garmin, which is undoubtedly an amazing piece of kit. What is it that makes it so wonderful? Well, there are many things. First of all, the gadget is easy to use and comes with a whole host of features. You don’t need to pay any fees or subscription charges after you have purchased the device.
If you are already a user of S1, you will find the S3 more amazing because the new gadget comes with a glove-friendly touch display screen, which has higher resolution. Aside from this, the gadget features a myriad of extra upgrades. That is what makes the gadget worth the price tag.
As with other devices, the first model helps users figure out what the functions and feature of the product are, and the second model does a job of making a lasting impression on them. It’s true for the Garmin Approach S3. Please go ahead and read through this review to find out more about this piece of hardware.
The Garmin Approach S3 display is much better than its predecessors. As said earlier, the display screen is higher resolution, which is why it is more beautiful. Once you are three at the course, all you need to do is use its touch screen in order to locate nearby courses. The watch won’t take forever to find the courses. You just need to wait a couple of seconds.
Once the watch have found the courses, you can go ahead and enjoy your round to the fullest. The screen of the S3 shows yardages to the back, middle and front. On the other hand, some GPS devices show only the middle and don’t show back and front distance without navigation. As far as my experience is concerned, this is a great thing.
The S3 comes with a Green View to show you the actual layout and shape of the specific green that you are playing. All you need to do is touch and then change the location of the pin. In this way, you will find it easier to find out accurate distance measurements.
As far as usability is concerned, the shot-measurement feature is still there in the S3. It was a main feature in the S1. All you need to do is tap “measure”, get closer to the ball and find out how far the shot was hit. The greatest benefit of this feature is that you can improve your distance and game control, which is undoubtedly a great thing for improving your performance.
While there are a lot features in S3 that make the watch worth buying, the ability to include your own desired yardage points is one of my best features. For instance, If there is a layout area, a ridge or a carryover tree, all you need to do is mark that specific spot, and the watch will save those points for future rounds. So, this is a great addition in the S3. Thanks to Garmin!
All in all, the watch is easy to use for beginners too. But for advanced users, it is much more useful because they know what features to use and when. New users can also get familiar with the device with time, and once they know all the features, they can get the most form the watch.
If you think it is too good to be true, you need to read about the performance of the watch. As far as performance of the watch goes, you won’t be disappointed. As with any other electronic device out there, there are a couple of things that users don’t like about the S3. Some of those things are annoying while others are ignorable.
First of all, the watch is relatively bigger, and if you are not into watches, and won’t keep one on your wrist, you will probably need some time to get used to the watch due to its heaviness. Yes, the watch looks relatively bigger than other watches of this type. While the touch display of the watch is great, you may, at times, find it had to see the options you selected, particularly in the Green View. The reason is that your finger will block the view.
Like a lot of other GPS gadgets out there, the battery life of the watch doesn’t seem very long. If you use the watch on watch mode all the time, you won’t need to recharge it for up to 8 one month, but if you are in GPS mode, you will have to recharge it every 8 hours. So, if you use the GPS mode frequently, be ready to recharge the device over and over again, which can be a bit hassle. But overall, keeping all the other features of the product in mind, we can say that the product is wonderful.
The price of the gadget is a bit high, so not everyone will be able to afford it. But if you compare it with other more expensive GPS gadgets, you will come to know that it is very reasonable prices, and you won’t get disappointed. Moreover, if you are into gadgets, you must have this one. For Garmin Approach S3 best price, you should visit the product page on Amazon. Good luck!
